Like most of you I have a few applications running on my computer startup (utorrent and such…). Mind you you shouldn’t have too many applications running on startup tho. There are times (if i had a penny for everytime….) that I startup my computer and then forget to login (something just comes up..) and return (sumtimes after a couple of hours) to find <--insert your fav movie/series here--> still hasn’t finished just because I forgot to login. Sounds familiar eh.

So let me show you how to setup your computer to Auto-Login (this will work for almost all versions of Windows):

1. First you need to start Advanced User Accounts Control Panel
In Windows 2000/XP/Server 2003
1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. Type control userpasswords2 (control userpasswords in Win 2000) in the Open box, and then click OK.
In Windows Vista/Server 2008/Windows 7
1. Click Start, (Or Window Key + R in Windows 7)
2. Type control userpasswords2 or netplwiz in the Start Search or Run box, and then press ENTER.
2. In the User Accounts (Users and Passwords in Win2000) dialog box, on the Users tab, click to clear the Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer check box, and then click OK.
3. In the Automatically Log On dialog box, type the user name and password to be used for automatic logon in the User name and Password boxes respectively, type the password again in the Confirm Password box, and then click OK.
4. Click OK to close the User Accounts (Users and Passwords in Win 2000) dialog box.

So now that you have your PC Login you in automatically at Startup. Lets make things a little secure by having it Lock the Computer Automatically After Login:

1. Go to Start, or Press Windows Key+R to bring up the Run box
2. Type Regedit and click enter to open Windows Registry Editor
3. Go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
4. Right click, and make a New->String Value
5. Call it “AutoLock” (or whatever you want)
6. Double Click on the Newly Created String Value (Right click, and Modify works as well)
7. Enter the value: rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation
8. Click OK, Close Regedit and you’re done (Restart the PC to check if you want)

Now if you don’t want to mess around in the registry there is another way to do this by creating a a new shortcut in Programs->Startup and giving “%windir%\System32\rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation” as the location (without the ” ” quotes and making sure there are no trailing spaces at the begining and end).

If you want to stream TV to your iPhone or iPod Touch.
STEP1 – on your pc
1. Install the Orb streaming application (Version 2.01.0013 or later. Localized versions coming soon.)
2. Create your login and password
3. To watch live TV or a webcam you will need a TV turner card or webcam attached to your PC
4. Leave your PC on and connected to the Internet so it can stream stuff to your iPhone or iPod touch

STEP2 – on your iPhone or Touch. (jailbroken ofcourse)
1. Click on the Installer icon in your iPhone app menu
2. Click the Install icon at the bottom
3. Scroll through the list of categories and click on Multimedia
4. Click on OrbLive
5. Click Install at top right
6. Click Install in the popup that appears
7. When the package has installed, go to your iPhone app menu and click the OrbLive icon
8. Enter the login and password you created when you installed Orb on your PC
9. Enjoy!

As you may have noticed Microsoft still limits your half-open (incomplete/syn packets) connection attempts per second that the system can make. Microsoft has done this since Windows XP Service Pack 2 to keep your computer from being used by dangerous programs such as worms that scan the internet to infect more systems and to keep your computer from being a host of a Bot that connects to IRC that accepts commands to launch Distributed Denial Of Service Attacks (DDoS) against other people and companies they do not like.

Unfortunately for us and companies, this limit effects our internet by limiting the capability of P2P (Peer 2 Peer) applications like µTorrent, BitTorrent, BitComet, Azureus, BitSpirit, eMule (eDonkey network), BearShare, Direct Connect, DC++, ApexDC++, or even P2PTV such as PPLive, PPStream, Sopcast, TVAnts, Peer to Peer, Web server, FTP, and many other applications we love to use but cannot take full advantage of. Basically, you will make uTorrent faster as well as all these other apps you need.

When the limit is hit, You will recieve a Notice in Event Viewer Saying:

EventID 4226: TCP/IP has reached the security limit imposed on the number of concurrent TCP connect attempts.

This means Vista Has maxed out our connect attempts.

Please Note! Due to Vista SP1 restriction of using signed drivers only:
Vista SP1 (32/64) requires all drivers to be digitally signed. to bypass this limitation, we use a tool called ReadyDriver Plus v1.1. after install it will bypass the blue-screen and will boot Vista normally.

For those of you who wants to do it manually:
To use this driver you must press F8 at every Windows boot load. Then, in the boot menu, choose the option to disable driver signature. Vista will now boot successfuly.
